How to change the parish assigned to a pastor from the Curia User

In every diocese, there are changes in parish priests. At a specific moment, the bishop decides to change a parish priest, and therefore, his duties in the parish where he has been working for the last few years cease and are replaced by a new parish priest.

Faced with these changes, the outgoing pastor is usually clear that he must make the transition as smooth as possible for the new pastor arriving at the parish. Among these tasks, the pastor will hand over the keys to the parish, explain how things work in the parish, clarify various important aspects of the ecclesiastical life of the parish, etc.

But what happens to the Ecclesiared account of the pastor who is leaving the parish?

It should be remembered that Ecclesiared accounts are personal and cannot be transferred from one person to another, since access to the system includes personal and private aspects such as the communication channel of the tool itself.

What should you do if the new parish priest does not yet have an account with Ecclesiared?

If the new parish priest does not have a previous account with Ecclesiared, the outgoing parish priest must create a new user for him, activating all permissions so that he can manage all the parish information from Ecclesiared. You can do this from Users – Add users.

What should be done if the new parish priest already has an account associated with Ecclesiared in another parish?

In this case, and if we are the parish priest leaving the parish, we must always ask our diocese to make the change. The diocese, from the diocesan user account, can change the parish associated with that user. To do this, all the Curia has to do is go to the “Users” tab and select the parish where the user in question is located from the drop-down menu at the top.

Once there, on the right-hand side of the user, we will see a field with different actions, including the following red icon:

The red icon will allow us to move that user from the parish where they are currently located to any other parish working with Ecclesiared in our diocese. This way, the user does not need to be deleted, nor do they need to change their password. We simply change the parish assigned to them from the diocese.
