The Apostolic Vicariate of Méndez goes digital with Ecclesiared

In an important step towards the modernization and strengthening of the digital pastoral, the Apostolic Vicariate of Méndez officially announced its incorporation to the parish management platform Ecclesiared, a technological tool that facilitates the administration and coordination of the parishes and improves the service to the faithful of the communities.

This decision, which is part of the Vicariate’s commitment to a more organized, closer and efficient Church, will allow the parishes of Méndez to manage their sacramental registries, faithful databases, pastoral agenda, catechesis, and other fundamental aspects of ecclesial life in a comprehensive manner.

“Having the support of Ecclesiared, first of all, will allow us to organize and put in order the information contained in the parish archives of our parishes. It will also help us to unify and make information available quickly, something that is very important when people sometimes move from one place to another and need a copy of one of the documents and have to go there to get it,” he admitted.

The Bishop also did not hesitate to recognize the importance that digitalization is having in the Church in recent years since, as he said, “giving security to our archives in the face of possible dangers or risks such as fires, catastrophes or floods that could spoil the physical archives is fundamental for the diocese to have complete, fast, timely and centralized information”, he acknowledged.

The Ecclesiared platform, already used by many dioceses and vicariates in Latin America and Europe, has been valued for its ease of use, its guarantees of data privacy and its ability to adapt to local realities. In the case of Méndez, as many dioceses in Ecuador have done over the last few years, training sessions will also be offered for priests, parish secretaries and lay people in charge of management, thus guaranteeing an adequate transition to the digital environment.

With this addition, the Vicariate of Mendez takes a firm step towards digital transformation, aligning itself with Pope Francis’ recommendations on the responsible use of new technologies in the Church’s evangelizing mission.

The local Catholic community has received this news with optimism, seeing in Ecclesiared a tool that not only optimizes management, but also strengthens the pastoral fabric and the closeness between the parishes and the faithful.
