The Diocese of Chitré in Panama recently held a series of Training Workshops aimed at clergy, parish secretaries, and diocesan collaborators, with the goal of strengthening the use of Ecclesiared, a technological platform specially designed for the administration and protection of parish archives.
The training sessions were intended to equip participants with the skills needed to efficiently manage the system, which allows parish records to be digitized, organized, and safeguarded. These records are considered a fundamental part of the historical and spiritual memory of Christian communities and of the Church.
During the sessions, led by Ecclesiared technical staff, attendees learned about the many advantages Ecclesiared offers for optimizing parish administrative work. Thanks to this platform, processes that previously required several days of waiting for the faithful — such as searching for and issuing sacramental records or ecclesiastical certificates — can now be completed in a matter of seconds, providing faster and more efficient service to parishioners.
In addition to improving pastoral and administrative services, Ecclesiared also represents a significant advancement in document preservation, as it helps protect and safeguard highly valuable information from the physical deterioration that traditional books suffer over time, while also facilitating secure access to historical records.

Bishop Rafael Valdivieso Present at the Clergy Training
Bishop Rafael Valdivieso was also present at the clergy training sessions, where he expressed his joy and enthusiasm for the important step the diocese is taking toward the digitalization and modernization of parish services. The bishop emphasized the importance of integrating new technological tools that allow for more efficient service to communities while protecting the documentary and historical heritage of the Church.
Diocesan authorities also highlighted the importance of continuing to promote technological training opportunities within the Church, thereby strengthening a more organized, modern, and responsive administration that meets the current needs of the faithful.
Through these workshops, the Diocese of Chitré reaffirms its commitment to innovation and the preservation of ecclesiastical heritage, integrating technology in the service of evangelization and improved pastoral care.
