The Bolivian Episcopal Conference starts the digitalisation of its dioceses and parishes with Ecclesiared

The Bolivian Episcopal Conference has announced a major digitalisation plan in collaboration with Ecclesiared, a leading parish management software, to help its dioceses and parishes enter the digital world and discover all the advantages that technology can offer them today. This digitisation process marks a significant milestone for the Bolivian Church as it demonstrates its firm commitment to the faithful, offering parishes the help of technology to modernise and improve administrative management.

The main objective of the digitalisation project is to implement the Ecclesiared software in all parishes in the country. The aim is not only to bring the ecclesiastical structures up to date with the digital era, but also to optimise administrative processes by streamlining the search for and delivery of documents in the parishes.

The software, which is recognised worldwide for its prestige, has in recent years benefited thousands of parishes and dioceses in more than 25 countries, making it the most important parish and diocesan management software in the world. All this has not gone unnoticed by the Bolivian Episcopal Conference which, guided by Monsignor Eugenio Coter, Italian bishop and missionary in Bolivia, has initiated a process of digitalisation and modernisation in the dioceses of the country.

“The adoption of specialised software in our parishes represents a crucial step towards a more efficient and connected Church in the digital age. This software allows us to modernise our administrative processes and gives us the opportunity to offer a better service to our communities across the country. Now the faithful will be able to obtain any certificate in their parishes saving time and costs,” said Monsignor Coter.

Initially, Ecclesiared will be implemented in the Vicariate of Pando and the Vicariate of Reyes, and will gradually be extended to other dioceses in the country such as the Diocese of San Ignacio de Velasco, the Apostolic Vicariate of Ñuflo de Chávez…. Subsequently, it will be extended to the rest in order to complete the digitalisation of the Bolivian Church as many other dioceses in the world have done with the help of Ecclesiared.

“This initiative will not only help us adapt to the digital times in which the Church is living, but will also strengthen our mission to care for, protect and preserve the rich heritage of the Church in Bolivia by making important digital copies of our parish archives. We are committed to making a digital transition that will be beneficial to all the faithful and collaborators in our parishes,” said Monsignor Eugenio Coter.

In the coming weeks, training sessions will begin where different members of the Ecclesiared team will explain and train the clergy, the diocesan curia and the laity who collaborate in the parishes in this important tool. The training sessions will be fundamental to ensure a successful transition to the digital era of the Bolivian Church.
